Jane Woodham is a counsellor who offers therapy from The Wellbeing Rooms, situated in our community wellbeing hub, Revive Yoga and Wellbeing Studio. Read on to find out a little more about Jane and why she feels therapy is important for children, young people and adults.
Hello, I’m Jane, a qualified counsellor offering one-to-one therapy for children, young people, and adults here at the Revive Wellbeing rooms in Burntwood.
My work is rooted in creating a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and supported. While I don’t offer joint or family therapy, I specialise in helping individuals, whether that’s a child struggling with anxiety, a teenager navigating identity or school pressure, or a parent feeling overwhelmed or unsure of how to support their child.
Children and young people often communicate distress through behaviour rather than words, a change in mood, sleep, appetite, or a sudden outburst can be their way of saying something’s not right. They may not have the emotional literacy yet to explain what they’re feeling, or they might be unsure whether it’s okay to say it out loud. Counselling gives them a space to explore these big emotions with curiosity and support, helping them make sense of their inner world and develop healthier ways to express themselves. Over time, this builds emotional resilience, self-awareness, and the confidence to manage life’s ups and downs.
For parents, it can be incredibly tough to watch your child struggle, especially when you’re doing your best to support them but feel unsure, isolated, or even helpless. Having your own space in counselling allows you to reflect without guilt or the pressure to “fix” everything. It’s a chance to connect with your own needs, understand your responses, and feel more equipped to support your child while looking after your own wellbeing too. That, in itself, is a powerful act of care both for you and for them.
Being based in a community like Revive that values wellbeing, movement, and balance is a natural fit. Just as yoga reconnects body and mind, counselling offers emotional clarity and space to pause and reflect which we all need, especially in today’s fast-paced and demanding world.
If you’re curious about how counselling might help you or your child, feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to answer any questions or arrange an initial chat.
