Coaching for fatigue conditions

A unique coaching experience with a qualified coach who is enjoying recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Find the right strategies to support you based on your specific needs and situation.

What is coaching for fatigue conditions?

Coaching is a supportive process that helps you identify what action you need to take in order to manage your condition and to give your body the best possible chance to recover.

Management of fatigue conditions is unique as typical actions that a healthy person would take to maintain or improve their health just simply don’t work. For example, pushing through tiredness or rapidly increasing exercise in the hope the body will respond can make people with fatigue conditions extremely ill!

We understand that every single person is unique, what works for one person often doesn’t work for another and everyone has different personal circumstances they are trying to manage at the same time. We can work with you to help you understand what steps will work for you and fit in with your lifestyle.

We can work with you to identify what tools we know are successful are right for you and can support you to identify barriers to change and how to over come these. We know that often dramatic, large scale changes are not sustainable and cause people to relapse. By making simple, effective changes you are more likely to sustain new habits, to build on these in the future and achieve your goal of improved health.

Can I use coaching instead of continuing with treatment from my GP or other health professional?

Coaching in itself is not a substitute for any treatment of underlying health conditions. What coaching can do is to help you understand fatigue, how to manage it and will provide support in helping you to identify changes you can make to manage your condition and aid your own recovery.

Do I need to have a diagnosis of a specific fatigue condition such as ME / CFS or fibromyalgia?

No. We can support anyone either with or without a diagnosis.

What is the process and how many sessions do I need?

The first coaching session will be slightly longer than normal sessions. This enables us to gain some detailed information about your background and what your specific support needs are. We will agree some initial goals and look at any specific actions you need to take between the first session and your next one.

We can agree how many sessions are right for you, the choice is entirely yours. Most people find that around six sessions is sufficient to support them in achieving substantial results.

Coaching sessions are currently held via Zoom. We are also able to split sessions for those experiencing significant fatigue and who may struggle with longer sessions. Please talk to us if this applies to you.

Is coaching an easy way to improve my current fatigue?

No. The coaching process can be challenging and will require you to put in some hard work and at times consider some difficult questions and choices. You will decide how dramatic the changes are that you need to make and want to make with the support of your coach.

Improving your health can mean making some tough decisions and making some significant changes in terms of work, lifestyle and relationships. Yet it can also mean just making some small, yet positive and effective changes that are barely visible to the outside world. We can help you to identify what is right for you.

Do I have to do yoga?

No. You can incorporate yoga into your coaching programme or not, the decision is entirely yours.

I’m not sure coaching is for me?

You can choose to book a free 20 minute initial consultation to have an informal chat about the process to help you decide if coaching is right for you.
